So I lied about the going to bed after dinner. So went to bed but Nicole and I stayed up because we had a presentation due the next day. Which would be today. We were giving a presentation on Nihilism. A very sad topic to be staying up all night and researching. We ended up going to bed at 2:30 a.m. It was a long night. So this morning we did last mintue touches on our project and prepared for class. Our group was the last one's to be drawn so we were the last group to close up class. We did great. We both got an A on the project. Trull liked our class invovlement.
After class Nicole and I jumped in bed and took long naps to catch up on the sleep we missed last night.

Day 25... Goodbye Vienna
Today we woke up for breakfast and separated into different groups to see different things. Tanner, Heather, Lisa and Kelley went to watch a Horse Show. It's pretty famous in Vienna and I think Lisa really enjoyed it because she loves horses. Dalton and Jeff went to coffee and met some new people. Jerry, Dr.Trull, Nicole, Andrew, and I went to the papyrus museum. There was saw the oldest documents of the Gospel of Luke. Funny how we can go to the Freud Museum and then later in the weekend see old recordings of the Bible. After that Jerry took off and the rest of us hung out. We stopped at these amazing souvenir shops. Here are some great pictures of Andrew and Dr. Trull testing out the cool weapons they wanted to buy.

Cool Huh? We spent a good hour there. I just bought more postcards. Trull bought an Knights of Templar statue. It's pretty cool.
Then we walked into this square. It was great walking with everyone just looking at the beau
tiful buildings. We found a starbucks and since it was freezing outside that sounded wonderful. Starbucks here is expensive. I paid four euros which I realized it was about 6 dollars. So I probably won't be doing that anymore. But it was fun. We made a couple of videos. Nothing like drinking coffee in Vienna. We had to start heading back but Andrew remember there was the building that Hilter made one of his speeches. This bulding was so cool to walk around, but since we didn't have enough time we couldn't do anything but run and take pictures. We all really wanted to go inside the building but we had to be back before 3 or Jerry would leave without us. So we headed back and we were the first ones back. We kind of wished we ran in and back out. Since we were the first ones back. But oh well. So we all piled back into the cars and headed back to Regensburg. We got home at 5:30. We ate dinner and went to bed beacuse we all had a busy day. Plus we all have class tomorrow.

Day 24... Schonbrunn Palace among other things
Today we were supposed to tour the UN but our plans got cancelled. Instead we went to the Schonbrunn Palace which was beauitful. Kelley and I were
extermely excited about this because this was the winter palace that Sissy lived in for some time. I boy was it great. Of course Nicole and I had to take a jumping picture in front of the Palace. We went in a took an audio tour. It was amazing to be standing in Sissy's room and know she was here. Kind of like standing in Frued's apartment but just not as creepy. We spent 3 hours there, then went back to the Hostel.
Then Kelley asked if anyone wanted Apple Strudel. DUH! Vienna is famous for it so we had to try it. Nicole was very excited (it's her favorite). Kelley found this really good resturant that served it. We were excited because we wanted it yesterday but no body was serving, BUT NOT THIS TIME! It was served warm with Vanilla sauce. SOOOOOOOO GOOD!

I really enjoyed the Apple Strudel if you couldn't tell. ;)
Today was pretty relaxed.
Tomorrow we are leaving Vienna and heading back to Regensburg. Jerry said we will have a little time to walk around if we want to.

Day 23... We're Off to See Vienna
We left early this morning and packed ourselves in two cars. Dalton, Nicole, Jeff and I in Kelley's Car and everyone else in Jerry's Van. We were luckily because Kelley lets us play music and dance in the car. Before we were going to get to Vienna Jerry had us stop at Melk Abby and oh my goodness absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney took Beauty and the Beast and modeled it after this Abby. First we walked through the Museum, then through the Ball room, then through a GIANT library (Nicole's favorite part), and last through the Cathedral. There was so much to see in this one place. This is my new favorite place.
Then we piled back into the cars and drove to Vienna. The first thing we did was find the Freud Museum. It was really kind of eerie being in the same place where Freud used to analyze people. My camera was stuck in my bag in the car so I didn't take pictures. I'm so sad that I could get any of Melk Abby, but I can try and get a hold of some from others. But the Freud Museum was so different. They had weird post modern art that was influenced by Freud and all I can say is that it was freaky. And made no sense. (at least to me)
After that we found our Hostel and got all situated. When we were driving there we saw a Mexican restaurant and we ALL wanted to go. Trull was down for anything so we decided Mexican tonight. Kelley asked where a great place is and she found a restaurant. She made a reservation and we set off. Well, we walked all over. It was so nice though because we got to see more of Vienna at Night. Once we found the restaurant we ate and it was good! Not the same but still really good.
We headed back to the Hostel and Kelley asked if anyone of us wanted to get Apple Strudel. Um... YES! Apple Strudel is Nicole's favorite so she was up for it. Kelley said they are famous for it here in Vienna. I was excited. But it has a sad ending because we could not find anyone that would sell it, apparently it was to late for Strudel. CRAZY it's NEVER to late! So we just picked a coffee shop and I had BERRY TIRAMISU! YUMM. Although it didn't get very high ratings. (For those who don't know I actually have a chart filled out on where to get the best Tiramisu. There are different gradings like taste, texture, and appearance. I know I'm weird but I like my tiramisu. ) But we will have Apple Strudel tomorrow!
TOMORROW:
Sissy Palace
Apple Strudel
Just be in Vienna

Day 22... Phantom of the Polka?
Ok. I was really excited all day because I went to see Phantom of the Opera today. I got ready and dressed all nice. Kami and Chris wanted to come along. We got on the bus and went to the Audimax and bought tickets. the tickets were 50 euros which is more than we expected. We expected around 30 euros. I bought a program and we went in to find our seats. When we sat down we could only see about half the stage. These were terrible seats. Luckily or unluckily we got way better seats. 8 rows from the front! The lady told us to move down there and fill in the seats. This was looking much brighter by this time. We noticed when we walked in that there was no chandelier. This was a little upsetting to us. Then I look on stage and there was a huge screen. GREAT.... I thought they are going to film it falling down. This was not looking brighter anymore.
So the lights dim and we get ready. This is one of my favorite shows so I was really excited. I turned to Kami and said "Wouldn't it be funny if they just played the movie and we paid 50 euros. Thankfully this did not happen. (Although it might have been better) So the show starts. The Phantom is the first one out. "Ok," I think "It's just going to be a little different." Then, I kid you not the phantom brings out a balloon and starts dancing with the balloon and pulls out a pin "POP!" goes the balloon. My Thought process was "Ok, so this is weird..." then the phantom brings out a banana. He puts the banana down on the floor, then THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS! some one trips over the banana. Christine comes out sings a little Opera, no words just "ah." Ok, so the show goes on for a while and there are no songs that sound anything like the Phantom I know. OH, And by the way I should say there was no song that sounded anything like the Phantom I know. BECAUSE THEY SANG THE SAME SONG OVER AND OVER AGAIN. NO CHANGING MELODIES! over and over and over and over... GRRRRR.
Well, you all remember that part where I thought "Oh they probably filmed the chandelier falling." ha ha. not funny. The chandelier was about the size of my head. It wiggled and fell, not very climatically, onthe screen. Then a strobe light went off and Kami and I just look at each other like "Really? That's it? I'm glad I paid money to see this."
I forgot to mention that the Phantom was a real Creeper. He had that part down flat! i wish I had got a picture of him. But oh well. So the phantom sings a song (The same one we have been hearing for the past 8 times...) before intermission, but it was so weird because he ended and some one started clapping but then stopped. The phantom exits the stage. Then we all just sit there for a minute wondering whats going on. Well, then some one starting clapping again and we all joined in. It was one of the most awkward intermissions I have ever encountered. Kami and I were so lost because it was nothing like the real phantom story but Chris speaks German so at least he knew what was going on. He filled us in on parts we didn't get. Apparently what confused the audience according to Chris was that the phantom said "I'm coming back." Well, we all thought he meant right then but apparently he meant after intermission. oh......
BUT Let me tell you the second act really started to pick up... (this is me being sarcastic). By this time everything that was happening on stage was funny. I couldn't take this show seriously (probably for sanity reasons.) Well Raoul, who was dressed in a stripped suit for no reason, and Christine were on the roof. Raoul gets out a gun and shoots towards the curtain. It scared everyone in the theater. Then they sing the same song all over again.
OK! My favorite part! So, I'm assuming the girl that is playing meg, walks down the dungeon (which is just a screen that has a tunnel on it) and whispers to something off stage. She walks off stage and a police man tells her and who ever she is with to come out. She walks out holding a fake Cat. WHAT? She says to the police man "Oh, I was just talking to my cat." Then (this is the best part) process to CHUCK the cat off stage. From backstage comes this "MMMEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW" which sounds like a cat is being run over by a car. I LOSE IT! So does Kami. We cannot stop laughing. I'm shaking in my chair because I can't be to loud. I didn't want to upset the people who actually thought this was a good show. So then as I'm trying to calm myself down the phantom jumps on stage and falls to the ground and starts singing. We both lose it again. I couldn't see Chris so I don't know if he was laughing as well. THEN, as if it was hard enough already the phantom (while an opera is going on) is hiding behind a plant and then decides to kill a guy on stage with a knife. The ballerinas find him and scream and run off stage. Christine and Raoul see him and do nothing. The stage managers walk by and do nothing. The SECURITY guard looks at the guy and does nothing. Then Finally the inspector sees him and is like "I'll take care of this," then proceeded to DRAG the man off the stage. I let out a really loud "ha." And some people looked at me. I didn't mean to, it was just way to funny.
The show ended and the actors came out to bow. Well, they all came out one by one then took a bow with everyone. Then they did that same thing again. And then they did it once more. This is the longest time I have spent clapping for a show. My arms were tired so I just stopped. It was an interesting night and defiantly a story to tell.
We then headed back to the Hostel by bus. While we were riding we realized somehting about the show that we didn't catch on. So when Raoul and Christine were on the roof, Raoul shot offstage. After he shot, Christine asked "what was it?" he said "oh, just a cat." AH HA! I turned to Kami and Chris and said "I GET IT! The phantom is the cat!" We all realized that. Finally the show made a little bit more sense. And then I giggled even more because Andrew Lloyd webber wrote Phantom of the Opera and he also wrote Cats. Wow. So much connection.
Anyways that was a very different night.

Day 18... Class Day then Relax
We had class, and it was a good one. I'm really enjoying this with Dr. Trull. we are in class from 9-12 then 1-2. we eat lunch at 12 and then I run to take a nap to get ready for the last hour.
Kelley is sick. But she took us out for coffee. I had hot chocolate and it was delicious. I have a feeling we will be going back soon. We also had another Sissy night. I LOVE SISSY! It's about the empresses of Austria. I love this story. The movie is all in German so kelley has to interpret the entire thing but I don't mind. I want to buy this movie to watch all the time. They have three parts and we have watch 1 and 2. We are going to finish the entire thing before we go to Vienna. When we go there I want to see the summer palace that they lived at. If I buy the movie we will have a movie night back in the states to watch SISSY.
Other than those things it was a really normal day.

Day 17... First Day of Christian Worldview
Dr. Greg Trull is here and will be teaching Christian worldview. We have been reading the books "Total Truth" by Nancy Pearcey and "The Question of God" by Armand M. Nicholi. I'm really enjoying both books but there is A LOT to read. I'm excited for Trull to be here.
Our first class was great. It feels like we are really getting started now. We figured out presentations and group projects. Trull is enjoying being in Germany and has already toured around a bit. He hasn't had a Doner, but we will change that!
I'm laying low a little bit because we spent a lot of money going to Interlaken. I need to save my money up a little bit more so I can afford Italy for spring break. Plus I am still debating on whether or not I should go to Paris on the next reading week. We will see.

Day 16... Back to Regensburg
So we got up at 6:30 this morning to get to the train station and get on our train at 8. We bought our tickets which were a little more than we thought they would cost. But we were in Switzerland so we had to buy some ticket to get back. Well we looked on our itinerary and it didn't have the platform number on it. So we missed our first train. So we walked back to the information desk and the man made us pay 6 more francs to buy another ticket. Then we got on our train. Our first ticket was going to get us home at 6:30 but now our new ticket was going to get us home at 8:11. We rode the train and made it to Lindau. We got on the train and two guys sat down right in front of Nicole and I. Well they smelled of smoke and I couldn't breathe anymore so I got up and walked around the train. Then I sat next to Andrew because he was farther from them. When I sat down Andrew turns to me and says "Courtney, I don't think we are on the right train." Dang it! I got so nervous. I JUST WANTED TO BE HOME! But it turns out we were on the right train. We get off and we look on the platform number and it says it's going to be delayed 20 minutes. But the train did come so we hopped on. Well, it actually was the wrong train but is still going to Munich. The problem was we had Bayern passes which don't work on certain trains. And of course it didn't work on this train. Luckily the train Conductor didn't fine us. (probably because we all had on sad faces)So then we got to Munich. We had dinner and jump on another train. THANKFULLY this one got us to Regensburg perfectly. But we still had to get to the Hostel. So Andrew tells us we can get on Bus 9 and that will take us there. So we get on and stop. We aren't there. We had no Idea where we were. Andrew talked with the Bus Driver cause he is the only one that can speak German. The Bus Driver said this bus only goes there during the week days and not the weekends. It was Sunday. So he drives back to the train station on his route and tells us to take bus number 3 or 8. So we get off the bus and he points to the other side of the station. We give him a thumbs up but had no idea what he was pointing at. Bus 3 came to the station and we hopped on. Well, apparently there are two 3 buses and they take different routes at different times. Our Hostel is on the North side and this bus took us on the south side. We were in Regensburg at 8 but didn't get to our Hostel till 10:30. It was such a long Trip! God really tested all of our patience. But we got home safe!

Day 14 and Day 15... Interlaken Switzerland
Ok I'm going to write both days on here...
So we left about 8:30 in the morning to catch a 9:00 train to Munich. We bought a bayern pass which costs 28 euros for 5 five people. We only had 4 so we each paid 7 euros to get to Lindau. Lindau is at the edge of the border to Switzerland. When we were in Munich we almost left on the wrong train. Our first train switched tracks so we walked to the other track. Well this train was going to spilt so we got on the wrong side. We asked some people if this was the train to Lindau they said yes, thankfully Andrew asked the conductor and he said no we need to go down the train. This was 2 minutes before the train was going to take off. So we packed and threw all of our stuff in our bags and RAN down to the end of the train. It was so CLOSE.
Then when we sat down a man came to Andrew and Was saying Danka! Danka! Apparently he was on the wrong train as well and he followed us down. So to Lindau we went and then got to Switzerland. We arrived around 8 o' clock at night. It was pretty dark so we went to grocery store to buy dinner. I bought Swiss creamy cheese and bagel chips to dip it in. I wasn't very hungry and that was a perfect snack. We went to the Balmer's Inn. There were a lot of students from Barcelona there studying and they were LOUD! I think we all woke up from the loud talking. But I think we all got enough sleep. Since we arrived at 8 and it was dark we woke up and we were Surrounded by Mountains.
When we all came out our rooms
we decided to go to a different Hostile and stay there. We went to Funny Farm Hostile. It was really nice. And we all got a balcony in our rooms. At the bottom I will post pictures of Nicole's and I's room. So Beautiful. Once we got our room we set our stuff down and walked around Interlaken. We all said we wanted Swiss Cheese Fondue. But everything there was so expensive! Andrew and Tanner shared a fondue and Nicole and I had a taste. It was really good. Nicole didn't like it but I enjoyed it. I'm glad I didn't get a whole thing though, I wouldn't be able to eat the entire thing. Then Andrew really wanted Swiss chocolate so we walked into West Interlaken which was more of the city. It was a tiny little town but so adorable. Plus with those mountains surrounding it. WOW. We walked around the town and found this really cool bridge over a little river. We took lots of pictures and videos. Some of the Swiss were watching us and laughing at us because we were taking jumping pictures. I got some nice pictures of me with the mountains in the back. I'm going to try and get them up on facebook as soon as possible. I love this little town. If I had lots of money I would come back here and do all of the cool things they offer to do. We didn't get to go up the mountains because it would have cost us 160 euros to get to the top. We had so much fun. Then after walking around for a while we went for dinner in a Thai resturant. It was SO good. We were laughing that we were eating Thai food in Switzerland but it was so yummy. Then we went back to our hostile ate chocolate and did more homework. Then we all went to Bed for the Long Traveling Day we will have tomorrow.
So we left about 8:30 in the morning to catch a 9:00 train to Munich. We bought a bayern pass which costs 28 euros for 5 five people. We only had 4 so we each paid 7 euros to get to Lindau.
